About Us
The Sale and District Orchid Club Inc. is a non-profit organisation, incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1981, on 23 August 1993.
A copy of the SADOC Constitution (as of AGM 2026) is available on request and will be posted soon. SADOC holds an AGM in April each year, where the Executive and Committee are elected. Voluntary positions are also filled.
Meetings and Membership
The Club meets on the fourth Sunday of each month (except December). Meetings are normally from 1.30PM, with April (Annual General Meeting) and November (Xmas function) are lunch meetings starting at 1PM (unless otherwise advised).
Venue is the VRI Hall opposite Sale Railway Station in Pettit Street, Sale.
The Club endeavours to provide:
Guest speakers Demonstrations
Orchid Displays Advice and assistance
Shade House visits Monthly newsletter
Orchid supplies – pots, fertilizer, bark etc at low cost
Emphasis is on member participation, so formal procedures are kept to a minimum. A range of activities to cater for various levels of knowledge and skill are provided.
MEMBERSHIP
If you would like to learn more about successfully growing and flowering orchids, you are invited to attend one of our meetings where you will be made most welcome.
If you decide to join the Club, the first year (until AGM) is free, then $20 per year for singles and $30 for family membership.
